Het eindresultaat
Het lichtplan brengt prioritering en helderheid in de vormentaal van het hotel en respecteert de architectuur en het nautische verleden. Het laat het hotel opnieuw stralen als een helder baken op de Wilhelminapier waardoor het uit de schaduw treedt van haar reusachtige buren.

Sketch design for facade lighting for this Rotterdam icon, the former headquarter of the Holland-America Line.
The challenge
A call for tender to 14 parties.
The result
The lighting plan brings priority and clarity to the hotel’s formal language and respects the architecture and nautical past. It lets the hotel shine again as a bright beacon on the Wilhelmina Pier. As a result, the building steps out of the shadow of its giant neighbours.
